 Wings News and Announcements:

The summer flying season is finally upon us with great weather and long days.  Please be careful and take precautions out in the west Texas heat by being sure to drink plenty of fluids, using sunscreen on exposed areas and using insect repellant when needed.  Common sense goes a long way!

During the summer, the asphalt pit area softens quite a bit and it prone to damage if driven upon.  Keep heavy objects off the asphalt and be sure your vehicle remains on the dirt portion of the parking lot.

The infield area in and around the pilot stations is newly tilled and seeded with Bermuda grass and is currently insulated with a layer of bedding straw.  Please don't disturb the bedding straw and do your part to help keep it in place until after the grass seed germinates.

The Wings Warbird Invitational is set for August 8th and 9th.  Make plans to reserve some time to participate in your club's event by working and flying.  It's going to be a great event you won't want to miss.  Look for an e-mail with an event duty opportunity sign-up soon.  This year will be different as duty sign up will be clear and several short divided time slots available.

Many generous vendors have donated discounts, or free merchandise to be given away as door prizes.  Be sure to check them out, tell them thanks for supporting our event,  and support their businesses if you are able.

Have a great summer and happy modeling!
